STFU: "A Package That Lights Up The Shelf"

This is awesome.
Shaving gel, aftershave, and face wash.
No money spent on advertising, just on packaging
"The product, called NXT, is sold in an arresting triangular container that lights up from the bottom, illuminating air bubbles suspended in the clear gel. The plastic is tinted blue, and when the AAA batteries in its base are lighted, the whole thing looks like a miniature lava lamp or a tiny fishless aquarium.

Another Toothpaste Post...

This is Rembrandt's new packaging, I thought it was nice. Each one has a different color on the inside.
Rembrandt - Toothpaste, Sensitive, Fresh Mint - 3 ozRembrandt - Toothpaste, Intense Stain, Mint Flavor - 3 oz

This may be old news but,

Electronic Packaging

"Wired magazine reports that Siemens is preparing a paper-thin electronic-display technology so cheap it could replace the everyday labels on disposable packaging, for everything from milk cartons to boxes of cereal."

"Siemens says, the technology could transform consumer-goods packaging from the fixed, ink-printed images of today to a digital medium of flashing graphics and text that displays prices, special offers or alluring photos, all blinking on miniature flat screens."

wrapping that's more prison than package

Remember that one time when you got that awesome CD player from under your Christmas tree, but then it took about three and a half hours to open... Well at least you got a CD player... o and don't forget that huge gash on your left hand from opening it.

"Manufacturers say molded packaging protects goods on the long journey from asia. Retailers say the heat-sealed edges keep shoppers from opening them in stores. And products certainly look picture-perfect in that clear plastic bubble."

"RESISTANT TO SCISSORS, RAZOR-BLADES AND LOUD SWEARING"

Not only is this type of packaging annoying and irritatingly hateful, but it is also very environmentally un-friendly. The waste of all that plastic does come up as an issue.

Although retailers will be hesitant to change from their thief-repellant, fresh-new-car-scented, clamshell airtight wrapping, these retailer will soon have to say good-bye to their preferred clamshell packaging. The now fad is all about "natralock" an easy to open cardboard & plastic hybrid, as Costco wholesalers have.

I HAVE NEVER BRUSHED MY TEETH EVER IN MY LIFE...JK

Here is just something that I found very curious: This new Aquafresh toothpaste has such an oddly shaped cap that doesn't seem to enhance the bottle's functionality by any considerable degree. Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not hatin', I'm just pointing my finger at it. In-fact, I too bought this product solely for it's formal qualities. I was seduced by the strangely shaped cap and sheen metallic color, like a toothpaste from the future...neato!
